Happy Thursday from Tina Robinson!
Hearings have been going on discussing the tax breaks or subsides received by the top five largest oil companies. Democrats are finally taking a stand on something, and what better issue than challenging the need for over 4 billion dollars of tax breaks given to five largest oil companies, currently making record profits, while the rest of the country is attempting to balance the budget. The time has come for these subsides to end.
The Florida YES Coalition is having a call in to Florida Senators this Friday, May 13th! No matter where in the country you live, please give your Senator a call tomorrow, this weekend, or next week! The sooner you can call the better! Then ask your friends and family to call too!
Join our Facebook Event or just forward this blog!
You can find out the number for your senators here:

Here is a sample script you can use to guide your call:
Happy (Day of the Week)!
My name is (your name here). I am calling to leave a message for (your senator's name here).
The top five oil companies have already claimed over $32 billion in profits in 2011 alone. Our nation, our state, and so many other states are making cuts to our education, healthcare, public services, and other programs, we can't afford to give out over $4 billion in subsides to these companies any longer.
I implore (your senator's name here) to support legislation that will end the subsides not only for these top five oil companies, but all the subsides for oil, natural gas, and coal companies. We can't afford to support these fossil fuel industries any more. Our budget, our health, and our environment are suffering too much.
Thank you so much for your time.
Thank you so much for helping us to create a more beautiful world!
peace & love,
The Cultural REcyclists
